For the record, my comments about hate speech should be distinguished from any political opinion I have regarding Israel or the Mideast “peace” process. You’re absolutely right on that, Streak: Israel has a lot of soul-searching to do. I am not necessarily a supporter of its hawkish policies. But neither are a lot of American Jews. Jewish people do not all think alike. Not all of them blindly support Israel. Criticism of the Israeli government is certainly a worthy topic of discussion. But ignorant, thoughtless hate speech about Jews is not.

Well - the point must be that if the Nazi's post here - and they have to argue their case - and I use the word case broadly -it is easy to see that they have no real basis except hatred and personality disorder.
Judaism is not as a concept blameless in any way - in particular in the middle east -and a reasoned argument can demonstrate that.
That's no bad thing. The shock that Nazi views cause is the point.
That's the value of free speach.
You are exactly right; it is amazing when anyone is surprised that anti-Semitism still exists (or racism, or sexism or any other form of prejudice).
But there is really no need for a humorous blog about Terri Schiavo to serve as yet another avenue to promote unrelated hatred. Anyone who surfs the Web even occasionally is fully aware that there are lots of ignorant, hate-filled people out there.
And Israel (which is NOT the same thing as Judaism, a very diverse religion that encompasses a very diverse group of people with many different viewpoints) certainly is NOT blameless. See my post above.
Free speech is valuable and is part of the very essence of America. Hate speech is a different thing.

The best way of hleping someone in a vegetative, permanent state is to let them die, especially if you really beleive in an afterlife. That's what science sais - the brain is dead, there are no miracles for people like that, Ryan. Not one neurological self regeneration has ever taken place.
To force someone to subsist in a vegetative state in neihter an act of Chrstianity, intelligence or compassion.

Well - I don't agree. The fact that loads of very silly neo conseratives and a lot of very ignorant "Chrstians" wanted this woman kept alive for their own purposes, and then created a media circus to serve their own ends must justify a fierce humourous response. Those fundmentalists created an unending grim media nightmare shoved in front of our faces every night.
Humour is the best response - to such deliberate offensive bigotry and falure to live naturally or with decency... or in the shadow of the Christ!
A wise woman once said the was Christianity and Churchianity.... and the two hadn't much to do with each other, except the church made all the noise. Empty vessels and all that.....

Yes, but without those stupid Nazi comments which exposed the authors ignorance of the issues, dodgy mental and emotional processes and warped logic - none of this would ever have been said.
The Nazi wouldn't have lost every argument s/he vomited onto this blog, and the genocidal Zioist state would not have been criticised.
Now that is useful yes? Most folks here are a bit younger and won't have lived through this history. I have two generations who lived it - they don't. It's worth the space!!
